This MR54 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Trop-2, which is also known as Tumor-Associated Calcium Signal Transducer 2 (TACSTD2). This type I transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on trophoblast (syncytiotrophoblast and cytotrophoblast), epithelial, and most human carcinoma cells. Trop-2 plays a role in calcium-mediated signaling. Trop-2 has also been reported as an oncogene, with expression being correlated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and anchorage-independent growth. |
