Specificity: 14-3-3. Species Cross Reactivity: Based on sequence similarity, is expected to react with: Human, Bovine, Chicken, Mouse, Dog, Primate, Xenopus, Zebrafish N.B. Antibody reactivity and working conditions may vary between species. Specificity Note: This product recognises rat 14-3-3 protein, a highly conserved, ubiquitously expressed protein family. 14-3-3 proteins form homo- and heterodimers that can interact with a variety of cellular proteins that are typically phosphorylated on serine or threonine residues. 14-3-3 proteins regulate cellular processes such as trafficking, cell-cycle regulatory pathways and signal transduction. Brain tissue contains the highest concentration of 14-3-3 proteins and the proteins have been found in the cerebral spinal fluid of patients with certain neurodegenerative disease such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and scrapie. 14-3-3 proteins might also contribute to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, Miller-Dieker syndrome and spinocerebellar ataxia type 1. 14-3-3 has also been implicated in cancer.
