Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:2000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 35kDa band in Human Brain (Amygdala, Frontal Cortex, Hippocampus and Substantia Nigra) lysates after 0.3ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 270kDa according to NP_001597.2 and of 273kDa according to .NP_997698.1. The 35kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? |

Epitope: C terminus. Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, C-KKQSDNLEQQETEP, representing the C terminusof the sequence according to NP_001597.2; NP_997698.1. Please note, this antibody is considered to be Innovators Grade. Innovators Grade antibodies have been validated for limited uses and require additional characterization for most new species/applications. These antibodies are directed against antigens that have limited or no commercial antibodies available for them, or for which there are limited expression data available to us. In an effort to encourage customer feedback, Novus has made these antibodies available through our Innovators Reward program. Under this program, Novus will provide you a 50% refund on the purchased product as well as a 50% discount on a future product of equal value in exchange for your new data. Please contact us at innovators@novusbio.com for more details. The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. This protein is highly expressed in brain tissue and may play a role in macrophage lipid metabolism and neural development. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. |
