| Description |
Adiponectin is an adipocyte specific protein hormone, which is induced by adipocyte differentiation and stimulated by insulin levels. Levels of circulating adiponectin are inversely correlated to the body mass index and as such, the protein has been shown to play a role in metabolic disorders such as Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Adiponectin has also been shown to display antiinflammatory effects on the walls of blood vessels and may also play a role in regulating the immune system. Our recombinant Adiponectin comprises a 226 amino acid fragment (19-244) corresponding to the mature adiponectin protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. |
