BioLogo Dr. Hartmut Schultheiss e. K. was founded in 1998 in Wettenberg, a small community 80 km north of Frankfurt/Main. In 2000 BioLogo moved the company to Kronshagen near Kiel (the Baltic port).

The enterprise is aimed at development, production and sales of antibodies and other immunoreagents for biological and medical research. Today we work together with 30 well established international manufacturers like Corixa, Sceti, Transgenic, VECTOR Laboratories, ZETA and others. Our products are offered through international platforms on the internet like Linscott’s Directory, Antibodies Online, or Antibodies Directory. In part the products are distributed by sales organisations like Abcam, Biozol, AbD Serotec, and Funakoshi who are co-operating with BioLogo since many years.

The product portfolio contains a large number of antibodies for immunohistochemistry and other areas of immunobiology. Our own brand mark BioPrime was developed for use in routine paraffin sections and includes about 250 products. Among those are to be noted epithelial cell markers HEA125 and MOC-31 as well as the more specific carcinoma markers Mammaglobin and AMACR / P504S, for which Corrixa Co. CA is holding the patent.

Antibodies against Extracellular Matrix Proteins (ECM) have been used widely in different research areas and industrial quality control. Please have a closer look into chapter ECM, if you are interested in collagen types I to IX, Elastin, Fibronectin, Laminin and other ECM molecules.

Antibodies against Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) are tools for the investigation of the interactions between proteins and sugar molecules. AGEs play an important role in the development of degenerative diseases like renal insufficiency Alzheimer Disease, arteriosclerosis, cataract of the lens etc. BioLogo offers a range of antibodies against different AGE molecules and AGE receptors (RAGE).

       KRN7000, a marine sponge glycolipid with an α-galactosylceramide (α-GalCer) structure, was found to exhibit potent antitumor activity in a variety of experimental and spontaneous tumor metastasis models. The antitumor effects of α-GalCer were first shown to be attributable to NKT cell activation and the antigen presentation function of dendritic cells. The patented KRN7000 of the Japanese Kirin-Brewery can now be offered as commercial licensed products by BioLogo and Funakoshi for the above named research areas.

BIOLOGO and ZETA have developed antibody cocktails, which label prostate carcinoma and basal cells simultaneously. The cocktail consists of two or three monoclonal antibodies, P504S clone 13H4(rabbit IgG), p63 clone 4A4(mouse IgG2a), and high molecular weight Cytokeratin 34ßE12.
