| Description | This recombinant human VEGF has been tested by bioassay of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). Dose-dependent induction of proliferation of HUVECs yields an ED50 of 10.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of approximately 1x105 Units/mg. The monoclonal antibody 10C2 recognizes human nestin. Nestin is a 220-240 kDa Class VI intermediate filament protein that is expressed in stem cells of the developing nervous system, specifically the neuroepithelium and angiogenic cells, and progenitors of pancreatic islet and mesenchymal cells.
