| Description | This antibody reacts with human. Others are not tested. Arginine vasopressin (AVP) modulates the secretion of ACTH through vasopressin receptor subtype V1b (VR1b) in the pituitary. The action of vasopressin is not limited to regulating water excretion, plasma volume, plasma osmolality, and liver glycogenolysis but also plays an essential role in regulating the corticotropic acis during stress. Vasopressin is synthesized in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary. It acts on 3 types of receptors (RV). AVP receptors are members of the G-protein coupled receptors with putative 7 transmembrane domains.
