| Description | This Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) allows the quantitativedetermination of β-2-microglobulin from plasma, serum and urine.β-2-microglobulin of the samples is bound to an excess of polyclonal rabbitanti β-2-microglobulin antibodies immobilised on the microtitre platesurface. After a washing step, to remove all unbound substances, thequantification of the bound β-2-microglobulin is carried out by adding anenzyme (horseradish peroxidase, POD) labeled antibody (POD-antibody),which also binds to the β-2-microglobulin. The amount of bound enzyme isdirectly proportional to the β-2-microglobulin content. The substratetetramethylbenzidine (TMB) is converted by the enzyme to a chromogeniccompound, which is determined photometrically at 450 nm (if the extinctionis out of range, measure at 410 nm). Range: 0.6-10 mg/l |
