| Description | Purified anti-SIRT5. The seven mammalian Sirtuin isoforms are assigned to different Sirtuin classes on the basis of sequence homology. The mitochondrial SIRT5 belongs to class III. In the mitochondrial matrix, Sirt5 deacetylates and activates carbamoyl phosphate synthetase 1 (CPS1), which is increased when amino acid metabolism is upregulated during fasting.
