Description | Purified anti-PGK1. Phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) is one of two enzymes, along with its isozyme PGK2, which catalyzes the conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, and transfers the phosphate group to ADP to produce ATP. This step is notable as the ``break even'' point of glycolysis where ATP expenditure matches ATP output. Additionally, PGK1 functions as a protein kinase, and is also involved in transcription initiation as a cofactor for DNA polymerase alpha. The gene encoding PGK1 is on the X c |
