| Description | Purified anti-GSK-3α. Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 Alpha (GSK-3α) is a serine/threonine protein kinase which mediates the control of several regulatory proteins involved in glucose homeostasis, including glycogen synthase, and transcription factors such as JUN. It also plays a role in the WNT and PI3K signaling pathways. GSK-3α contributes to insulin regulation of glycogen synthesis by phosphorylating and inhibiting glycogen synthase (GYS1 or GYS2) activity and mediates the development of insulin resistance.
