Description | CD269 (BCMA) Antibody, anti-human, Biotin, REAfinity™. Clone REA315 recognizes the human CD269 antigen, a single-pass type III membrane protein which is also known as B cell maturation antigen (BCMA). CD269 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily that is preferentially expressed in mature B lymphocytes. It is the receptor for CD256 (TNFSF13, APRIL) and CD257 (TNFSF13B, BLyS, BAFF). CD269 promotes B cell survival and plays a role in the regulation of humoral immunity. Binding of CD269 to CD257 blocks the binding of CD257 to its receptor on the plasma membrane and inhibits CD257-triggered B lymphocyte costimulation. Overexpression of CD269 activates NF-κB and JNK, and this activation is potentiated by CD257. | Additional information: Clone REA315 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
