Description | CD16b Antibody, anti-human, FITC, REAfinity™. Clone REA589 recognizes the human CD16b antigen, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein known as low affinity immunoglobulin gamma Fc region receptor III-B. CD16 is expressed in two different isoforms, FcγRIIIa (CD16a), which is found on human NK cells, macrophages, and mast cells, and FcγRIIIb (CD16b) Fc receptors, that bind to the Fc portion of IgG antibodies which mediates NK cell activating. CD16b is polymorphic and has two codominant alleles that are related to Neutrophil Antigen 1 (NA1) and Neutrophil Antigen 2 (NA2). Clone REA589 is present on polymorphonuclear leukocytes (neutrophils) expressing the NA1 molecule. | Additional information: Clone REA589 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
