Description | CD82 Antibody, anti-human, PE-Vio® 770, REAfinity™. Clone REA221 recognizes CD82, a member of the four transmembrane domain, tetraspanin family. Tetraspanins contain short, cytoplasmic amino and carboxyl termini and two extracellular loops of unequal sizes and can be distinguished from other membrane proteins, with same topology, due to conserved residues within the transmembrane domains and in the larger extracellular loops. CD82 interacts with other tretaspanins and membrane proteins, thus regulating several functions such as signal transduction. On the surface of tumor cells, CD82 interacts with integrins and is suggested to serve as a supressor of tumor metastasis. In addition, on immune cells such as T cells, CD82 associates with CD81, CD4, or CD8 and class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC), components of the antigen-processing and presentation pathway and tetraspanin CD63, in dendritic cells. Expression of CD82 is found on dendritic cells, monocytes, granulocytes, lymphocytes, epithelial, and endothelial cells. | Additional information: Clone REA221 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
