Description | SSEA-5 Antibody, anti-human, VioGreen™. Clone 8e11 recognizes the human stage-specific embryonic antigen-5 (SSEA-5) antigen, an oligosaccharide that contains the motif Fucα1-2Galβ1-3GlcNAcβ, also known as the H type-1 (H-1) antigen. SSEA-5 is highly and specifically expressed on undifferentiated embryonic stem cells and pluripotent stem cells. It is also expressed on the surface of cells in the inner cell mass of the human blastocyst during embryogenesis and expression is rapidly down-regulated upon cellular differentiation. |
