Description | DLL4 Antibody, anti-mouse, Biotin. DLL4 is one of the six identified Notch ligands in vertebrates. Being a canonical Notch ligand, extracellular domain of DLL4 contains N-terminal domain, Delta/Serrate/LAG-2 (DSL) domain and tandemly arranged multiple EGF like repeats. Binding of canonical ligands such as DLL4 induces cleavage and release of Notch intracellular domain (NICD), followed by its translocation in the nucleus where it interacts with transcription factors involved in induction of expression of Notch target genes. A ligand for Notch1, DLL4 is the first Notch ligand to be expressed during mouse development. DLL4 plays an important role in developmental angiogenesis. In mice, lack of a single DLL4 allele leads to early embryonic lethality characterized by severe defects in arterial differentiation and vascular remodeling. |
