| Description | The antibody reacts with CD41a antigen. CD41 is a transmembrane glycoprotein (integrin family) composed of two chains GPIIbbeta (heavy chain; 120 kDa) and GPIIbbeta (light chain; 23 kDa). CD41 is primarily expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes. The antibody blocks platelet aggregation and completely inhibits ADP-, epinephrine-, and collagen-induced platelet activation, and partially inhibits ristocetin-and thrombin-induced platelet activation. This antibody is useful in the morphological and physiological studies of platelets and megakaryocytes. |
