Description | Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 1(KRT1) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human;Mouse;Rat. Background: Keratin 1 (KRT1), also known as Cytokeratin 1, or Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 1, is a member of the keratin family. It is specifically expressed in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis with family member keratin 10. Mutations in this gene have been associated with the variants ofbullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma in which the palms and soles of the feet are affected. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. Immunogen | Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of mouse Cytokeratin 1 (223-257aa LQQVDTTTRTQNLDPFFENYISILRRKVDSLKSD Q), different from the related human sequence by ten amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by five amino acids. Ig Type: Rabbit IgG |
