| Description | Recognizes human and mouse mTOR. Detects a band of ~289kDa by Western blot. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is an atypical serine-threonine protein kinase and member of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) signaling pathway. TORC1 (mTOR, G beta L/mLST8 and Raptor) and TORC2 (mTOR, G beta L/mLST8, SIN1, and Rictor) complexes control protein synthesis through the direct or indirect phosphorylation of downstream targets such as S6 Kinase and 4EBP1, key regulators of mRNA recruitment to ribosomes.
