| Description | Anti-Alpha Amylase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified a-Amylase [B.amyloliquefaciens]. Cross reactivity against a-Amylase from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined. Alpha Amylase is a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 13 family, involved primarily in the hydrolysis of biopolymer residues of 1, 4-alpha-D-glucosidic linkages in polysaccharides. It performs its catalytic function in metabolism of carbohydrates. Anti-Alpha Amylase antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Metabolism, Signal Transduction, and Cancer research. |
