| Description | CD22 is a type I transmembrane protein of 140 kD expressed in B cells. The extracellular domain (ECD) contains seven Ig domains with 12 recognized N-linked glycosylation sites. CD22 binds to α2,6-linked sialic acid (Sias) ligands connected to galactose. The Ig domain 1 (d1) recognizes Sias containing α2,6-linkages.
