Description | The WERI-Rb-I cell line is one of two human eye cancer cell lines established in 1974 by R.M. McFall and T.W. Sery. Cells can survive in Difco Bacto-Agar but do not form clones. Scanning electron microscopy showed changes in the number and frequency of vesicles, lamellar pseudopods, and microvilli on the surface. The cell line can be used for cell differentiation studies, animal models of tumor therapy and biochemical evaluation. |
