MW: 32.3 kDa (305aa) confirmed by MALDI-TOF. Purity > 85% by SDS-PAGE. CGREF1, also known as cell growth regulator with EF-hand domain 1, is a secreted calcium ion binding protein. This protein contains two EF-hand domains and both EF-hands are required for function. It is probably digested extracellularly by an unknown serine protease generating extremely hydrophobic bioactive peptides. It mediates cell-cell adhesion in a calcium-dependent manner.
