Product Name | Fatty Acid Binding Protein (Liver) (L-FABP) |
Description | Purity >95% by SDS-PAGE. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kDa) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billirubin, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. L-FABP (or FABP-1) is found predominantly in liver and is believed to be involved in the regulation of lipid transport and metabolism and is required for cholesterol synthesis and metabolism. RANDOX recombinant L-FABP comprises a 127 amino acid fragment (1-127) corresponding to the human liver FABP protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. |
