CD340 is the protein HER2, a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family of cell membrane tyrosine kinases, and is encoded by the gene ErbB2. Unlike other EGFR family members, CD340 contains no ligand binding domain and has no known ligands. Instead, this protein interacts with other EGF receptor family members to form a heterodimer, stabilizing ligand binding and enhancing kinase-mediated downstream signaling.
