S-Phase Kinase Associated Protein 1 (SKP1) is one of the core components of the Skp, Cullin, F-box containing (SCF) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex which poly-ubiquitinates protein targets for proteasomal degradation, and thereby regulates a variety of cellular processes including DNA damage response, apoptosis, cell cycle, and overall genome stability.
