IGBP1 (also known as Alpha4) , binds to PP2A C in the absense of A and a B subunit in a catalytically inactive state to prevent C proteosomal degradation. If alpha4 levels are low, PP2A levels can decrease, leading to increased tau protein phosphorylation and aggregation.
