| Description | Purified anti-MUT. MUT encodes MCM (Methylmalonyl-CoA mutase), which resides in the mitochondria to metabolize branched and odd-chain fatty acids. Utilizing cobalamin as a cofactor, MCM also isomerizes methylmalonyl-CoA to make succinyl-CoA, an important intermediate in the Kreb's Cycle. Mutations in the gene can lead to disruptions in amino acid metabolism and may alter lipid and glucose homeostasis. |
