TNFR-associated factor 3, also known as TRAF3, is a member of the TNF receptor associated factor (TRAF) protein family and was originally identified as an adaptor molecule binding to the cytoplasmic tail of CD40. The engagement of CD40 with its ligand recruits the complex, which consists of TRAF3, TRAF2, and c-IAP1/2. This results in the stabilization of NF-κB inducing kinase (NIK).
