However, the mechanisms ofcore-mediated transcriptional regulation remain poorlyunderstood. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein isthought to contribute to HCV pathogenesis through itsinteraction with various signal transduction pathwaysIn addition, HCV core antigen is a recently developedmarker of hepatitis C infection.
