Description | CD172a (SIRPα) Antibody, anti-rat, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA490 recognizes the rat antigen CD172a, a 75-110 kDa glycosylated receptor-like protein, which is also known as SIRPα or SHPS-1. It binds to its ligand CD47, which inhibits cytokine production by mature dendritic cells (DCs) and avoids maturation of immature DCs. SHPS-1 plays a role in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled cellular responses induced by cell adhesion, growth factors, or insulin and mediates negative regulation of phagocytosis, mast cell, and DC activation. CD172a is expressed by neurons and myeloid cells, such as monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and DCs. | Additional information: Clone REA490 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
