DescriptionB7-H4 Antibody, anti-mouse, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA392 recognizes the mouse B7-H4 antigen, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) linked protein which is also known as V-set domain containing T-cell activation inhibitor 1 (Vtcn1). The B7 family of T cell costimulatory and coinhibitory molecules plays a pivotal role in the regulation of adaptive immune responses. As such, B7-H4 was identified as a coinhibitory member of the B7 family. In mice, B7-H4 expression is limited to B cells and APCs. B7-H4 negatively regulates T-cell-mediated immune response by inhibiting T-cell activation, proliferation, cytokine production and development of cytotoxicity. It has also been shown to negatively regulate neutrophil-mediated innate immune responses. Apart from the immune system, B7-H4 is overexpressed on some tumor cancer cells. When expressed on the cell surface of tumor macrophages, B7-H4 plays an important role, together with regulatory T-cells, in the suppression of tumor-associated antigen-specific T-cell immunity. | Additional information: Clone REA392 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
