Description | TOM22 Antibody, anti-human/mouse, APC. Clone 1C9-2 recognizes the human and mouse mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM22 homolog antigen, a single-pass membrane protein, which is also known as translocase of outer membrane 22 kDa subunit homolog. TOM22 is a central receptor component of the translocase of the outer membrane of mitochondria (TOM complex) responsible for the recognition and translocation of cytosolically synthesized mitochondrial preproteins. It functions together with the peripheral receptor TOM20 as the transit peptide receptor and facilitates the movement of preproteins into the translocation pore. |
