DescriptionMLC2a Antibody, anti-human/mouse/rat, VioBlue®, REAfinity™. Clone REA398 recognizes the human, mouse, and rat atrial isoform of the myosin light chain 2 (MLC2a) antigen. Myosin is a hexamer composed of two myosin heavy chains and four myosin light chains. In the heart two different forms of the myosin light chain are expressed, the atrial form (MLC2a) and the ventricular form (MLC2v). MLC2a is expressed at high levels in atrial cardiomyocytes while MLC2v is essentially restricted to ventricular cardiomyocytes, albeit low levels of both MLC2a and MLC2v persist in the inflow tract, the atrioventricular canal, and the outflow tract of the heart during cardiogenesis. MLC2a expression may as well be suitable to identify mouse and human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte subtypes. | Additional information: Clone REA398 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
