Description | Nestin Antibody, anti-mouse/rat, PE, REAfinity™. Clone REA575 recognizes the mouse and rat nestin antigen, a type VI intermediate filament protein, mainly expressed in the developing central nervous system and skeletal muscles. In adult eye, nestin is present in the optic nerve but also transiently expressed in the midembryonic mouse heart. Nestin plays a role in regulation of the assembly and disassembly of phosphorylated vimentin intermediate filaments during mitosis. It is involved in the trafficking and distribution of intermediate filament (IF) proteins and other cellular factors to daughter cells during progenitor cell division. | Additional information: Clone REA575 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
