Description | PAX-6 Antibody, anti-human, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA507 recognizes the human paired box protein PAX-6 antigen, a member of the paired box (PAX) gene family whose protein products are transcription factors involved in development. During organogenesis, PAX-6 is required for establishment of various progenitor subtypes within the central nervous system, eye, and pancreas. PAX-6 expression is maintained in a variety of cell types within each organ. PAX-6 is abundantly expressed during patterning of the optic vesicles and during specification and differentiation of the retinal pigmented epithelium. Defects in PAX-6 are responsible for various eye malformations including aniridia and Peters' anomaly. | Additional information: Clone REA507 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
