Description | CD68 Antibody, anti-rat, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA237 recognizes rat CD68, also known as macrosialin, which is a heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane protein of the LAMP (lysosomal-associated membrane protein) family. CD68 is expressed by the majority of tissue macrophages and weakly by peripheral blood granulocytes. It is also present on rat Kupffer cells but absent from rat liver endothelial cells. The expression of rat CD68 is predominantly intracellular, but it is reported that weak cell surface expression also occurs as well. CD68 functions as a macrophage receptor for oxidized low density lipoprotein. | Additional information: Clone REA237 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
