Description | Mucin-5AC Antibody, anti-human, PE, REAdye_lease™. Clone REAL915 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Mucin-5AC antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL915 recognizes the human Mucin-5AC, also known as MUC 5AC, a glycoprotein of gastric and respiratory tract epithelia that protects the mucosa from infection and chemical damage by binding to inhaled microorganisms and particles that are subsequently removed by the mucociliary system. Mucin-5AC is highly expressed in surface mucosal cells of the respiratory tract, stomach epithelia, in Barrett's esophagus epithelium and in the proximal duodenum. It is overexpressed in a number of carcinomas, has been linked to mucus hypersecretion in the respiratory tract and is associated to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). |
