Clone REA885 recognizes the human type II keratin protein cytokeratin 8, an intermediate filament protein, which is found in epithelial and carcinoma cells. In adult tissues cytokeratin 8 is expressed as a heterodimer with cytokeratin 18. | Keratins play a critical role in mechanical stability and integrity of epithelial cells and tissues, have regulatory functions, and are involved in intracellular signaling pathways. | Additional information: Clone REA885 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
