DescriptionCD177 Antibody, anti-human, PE-Vio® 770, REAfinity™. Clone REA258 recognizes CD177, which is also known as neutrophil specific antigen 1. CD177, a member of the µPAR family, is a 58-64 kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein expressed exclusively by subset of neutrophils, neutrophilic metamyelocytes, and myelocytes and is suggested to play a role in neutrophil mediated immune reponse as evident by its up-regulation on neutrophils in a number of inflammatory settings such as bacterial infection. Furthermore, CD177 can directly bind to PECAM-1 allowing neutrophil-endothelial cell interactions and thus contributing to neutrophil transmigration. Overexpression of CD177 is also seen in patients with polycythemia vera, making it a useful diagnostic marker. | Additional information: Clone REA258 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
