DescriptionSynaptophysin Antibody, anti-human, FITC, REAdye_lease™. Clone REAL734 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Synaptophysin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL734 recognizes protein Synaptophysin, also known as the SYP and major synaptic vesicle protein p38, that occurs in presynaptic vesicles of neurons and in similar vesicles of the adrenal medulla. Synaptophysin has four transmembrane domains and it forms a complex with dynamin at high calcium concentrations. It is present in neuroendocrine cells and almost all neurons in the brain and spinal cord that participate in synaptic transmission. | Synaptophysin is also involved in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity and acts as a marker for nerve terminals and for differentiating neuroendocrine tumors. It is reported, that Synaptophysin may provide a marker of breast cancer. Mutations in the gene can result in mental retardation, X-linked 96. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
