Description | CD104 (Integrin β4) Antibody, anti-mouse, Biotin, REAfinity™. Clone REA456 recognizes the mouse CD104 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as integrin β4 (Itgb4). Integrins are a family of heterodimeric glycoprotein receptors and exist as non-covalently bound α and β subunits. CD104 interacts with α6 integrin and serves as receptor for laminin and component of hemidesmosomes. Expression of α6β4 integrin is found in the basal aspect of stratified epithelia such as epidermis, stratified squamous epithelium of squamous mucosa, urotheliumin, and certain tumor cells. CD104 is likely to play a pivotal role in the biology of invasive carcinoma. | Additional information: Clone REA456 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
