Description | MAP2 Antibody, anti-human/mouse, PE, REAdye_lease™. Clone REAL1048 is an antibody fragment derived from the full MAP2 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL1048 recognizes MAP2 (Microtubule-associated protein 2) and belongs to the microtubule-associated family. The proteins are involved in microtubules assembly, an essential step in neuritogenisis. MAP2 is known to stabilize microtubules growth by crosslinking each other and with intermediate filaments. MAP2 is suspected of interacting with tubulin and is mainly expressed in neurons. It has been reported, that it is also detected in different cancers including melanoma and breast cancer. Four isoforms of MAP2 have been characterized, MAP2A; MAP2B; MAP2C and MAP2D. MAP2D is expressed by glia cells. The MAP2 isoforms are thought to be involved in microtubule assembly. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). | |
