Description | CD295 (LEPR) Antibody, anti-human, Biotin, REAfinity™. Clone REA361 recognizes the human CD295 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as leptin receptor (LEPR). CD295 is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family which acts through Janus kinases and signal transducers and activators of transcription. It is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and in multiple tissues, including the choroid plexus, lung, kidney, and primitive hematopoietic cell populations. CD295 is the receptor for leptin, a peptide hormone which is secreted by the adipose tissue at levels roughly proportional to fat content. Leptin communicates the repletion of peripheral energy stores to the brain, suppressing feeding and permitting/promoting energy expenditure via a variety of neuroendocrine and autonomic mechanisms. | Additional information: Clone REA361 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
