Description | CD258 (LIGHT) Antibody, anti-human, Biotin, REAfinity™. Clone REA244 recognizes the CD258 antigen, a type II transmembrane protein, which is also known as tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 14 (TNFSF14), herpes virus entry mediator ligand (HVEML), or LIGHT, the acronym for ``homologous to lymphotoxins, inducible expression, competes with HSV glycoprotein D for HVEM, a receptor expressed on T lymphocytes''. CD258 is expressed by activated T cells, NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, and immature dendritic cells. The ligands of CD258 are HVEM, lymphotoxin β receptor, and decoy receptor DcR3/TR6. CD258 has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of T cells, and trigger apoptosis of various tumor cells. CD258 is also reported to prevent tumor necrosis factor alpha-mediated apoptosis in primary hepatocytes. Its blockade or targeted disruption can alleviate alloresponses, graft rejection, or graft-versus-host disease. | Additional information: Clone REA244 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
