Description | CD49f Antibody, anti-human/mouse, Vio® Bright B515, REAfinity™. Clone REA518 recognizes the human and mouse CD49f antigen, a 120 kDa single-pass type I membrane protein, which is also known as integrin alpha-6 (ITGA6). Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an α chain and a β chain and are involved in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. CD49f associates with integrin β1 chain (CD29) to form VLA-6 and with integrin β4 chain (CD104) to form the α6 β4 complex, which plays a critical structural role in the hemidesmosome and constitutes a receptor for laminin in epithelial cells. CD49f is furthermore expressed on T cells, monocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, trophoblasts of placenta, and spermatogonial stem cells. | Additional information: Clone REA518 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
