DescriptionCD172a (SIRPα) Antibody, anti-mouse, PerCP-Vio® 700, REAfinity™. Clone REA1201 recognizes the mouse antigen CD172a, a 75-110 kDa glycosylated receptor-like protein, which is also known as SIRPα or SHPS-1. CD172a promotes the attachment and neurite outgrowth of cultured murine cerebellar cells. It binds to its ligand CD47, which inhibits cytokine production by mature dendritic cells (DCs) and avoids maturation of immature DCs. CD172a plays a role in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled cellular responses induced by cell adhesion, growth factors, or insulin and mediates negative regulation of phagocytosis, mast cell, and DC activation. CD172a is strongly expressed by neurons and myeloid cells, such as monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and DCs in several tissues, e.g., cerebral cortex, brain, spinal cord, cerebellum, and spleen. CD172a is not expressed on oligodendrocytes or GFAP-positive astrocytes. | Additional information: Clone REA1201 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
