Description | MEK1 Antibody, anti-human/mouse, APC, REAfinity™. Clone REA155 recognizes MEK1, a 45 KDa serine/threonine kinase and a component of the MAPK signal transduction cascade. In response to ligands such as growth factors, cytokines, and hormones, respective cell surface receptors are engaged and activate GTP-bound Ras, which transmits the signal by activating the protein kinases Raf-1, B-Raf, and A-Raf (Rafs), the MAP3K components of the cascade. MEK1 and the related kinase MEK2 are then the targets of MAP3K and transmit the signal further by phosphorylating the MAP kinases ERK1/ERK2. MAPK signal transduction pathway is involved in large variety of processes including cell adhesion, cell cycle progression, cell migration, cell survival, differentiation, metabolism, proliferation, and transcription. | Additional information: Clone REA155 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
