Description | Synaptophysin Antibody, anti-human, FITC, REAfinity™. Clone REA1121 recognizes the human Synaptophysin, an integral membrane glycoprotein also known as major synaptic vesicle protein p38. | Synaptophysin plays a role in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity and is involved in structural functions. It is detected in neuroendocrine cells and in neurons, which are involved in in synaptic transmission. Furthermore Synaptophysin is used as a tumor marker for different tumors which emerge from neural and neuroendocrine tissues. | Additional information: Clone REA1121 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
