Description | CD71 Antibody, anti-human, PE, REAdye_lease™. Clone REAL444 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD71 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL444 recognizes the human CD71 antigen, a transferrin receptor, which is essential for iron transport into proliferating cells. CD71 is expressed on marrow stromal cells (MSCs) from bone marrow, on activated T and B lymphocytes, macrophages, and all proliferating cells. It is upregulated on lymphocytes during proliferative responses to antigens or mitogens but is not expressed on resting lymphocytes. CD71 is present on reticulocytes and erythroid progenitors in fetal liver, cord blood, and peripheral blood and may be used for determination of erythroid leukemia, benign erythroid proliferative disorders, and myelodysplastic syndrome. | CD71/transferrin receptor is apply for detecting erythropoietin (EPO) abuse by athletes and as a diagnostic test for anemia, e.g. resulting from rheumatoid arthritis, pregnancy, irritable bowel syndrome and in HIV. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). |
